플라스틱 사용을 줄인다면

Plastics are widely used in our daily lives and have both benefits and drawbacks. They are lightweight and durable, making them an ideal choice for packaging products and foods. For example, in Korea, a single order of gukbap can come with over 10 pieces of plastic packaging. Some companies claim that plastic can be recycled, in an effort to ease the guilt of consumers who use plastic. However, recent studies show that only a small percentage of plastic products, approximately 14%, can be recycled.

 

The increasing production of plastic and its inability to break down naturally have led to significant environmental concerns. Plastic pollution has become a major problem, with millions of plastic products ending up in landfills and oceans every year. To combat this issue, radical solutions are needed, such as the UK's proposed ban on single-use plastic tableware. It is time for society to consider reducing or eliminating the use of plastic altogether, in order to protect our environment for future generations.
