Humans used to have a deep-rooted connection to nature. They believed that there were souls in trees, mountains, and other natural elements, just like in humans. However, with the rise of industrialization, we have become increasingly separated from nature. Nowadays, it is rare to find green spaces in our daily lives.
Spending time in nature has clear advantages for our physical and mental health. Research has shown that it can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, while also improving mood, cognitive function, and creativity.
Living near Seoul Forest has given me the opportunity to experience the stark contrast between the rapid development of the city and the tranquility of nature. I have been able to spend a lot of time in nature, and as a result, I have been able to improve my health and wellbeing. Spending time in nature has been shown to lower blood pressure, reduce inflammation, and even boost the immune system.
Whenever I feel stressed or overwhelmed, I find solace in the forest. Being surrounded by nature helps me to relax and clear my mind. It's amazing how something as simple as spending time in a natural environment can have such a positive impact on our overall health and wellbeing.
