I firmly believe that the power of culture is crucial for our country and its impact on the world. I was convinced that a well-functioning education system could lay the foundation for the growth of this power. With this belief, I taught many children in various schools. However, my efforts were met with harsh consequences, including arrest and imprisonment. The authorities interrogated me, but I refused to betray my fellow activists. During one particularly harrowing night, I saw a warder inflict brutal torture upon me. This experience made me question my own passion for my country. Was I as dedicated to my cause as this warder was to his own? The authorities also used tactics such as extended starvation and psychological manipulation through offering food and kind words to try to break me. Despite the harsh conditions in prison, I refused to give up on my mission and continued to work towards the independence of my country, which remains my greatest wish.
